March 2017: As you know, it has been an epic winter in southwest Idaho, with Weiser earning the dubious honor of “ground zero.” At this time, the snow is melting quickly but much of the trail still remains with snow (especially the further north you go) and until the snow melts and the ground dries out a bit, we will not be able to fully assess trail damage.
We do have a trench across the trail about six miles north of Weiser, please be cautious if you are in that area. As soon as the snow melts, we will be replacing a culvert and filling in the trench. The trench was necessary to mitigate flooding to adjacent land owners.
We anticipate higher than usual maintenance and repair costs this year. We appreciate any support you can give to us, including purchasing your Boise Open tickets. Because of the 100% match, each dollar you spend will essentially double.
